Teaching Tomorrow Internship
Program Overview
Teaching Tomorrow is a six month, paid internship designed to help high school students explore careers in early childhood education through hands-on experience and strong support.
Interns receive guidance from mentors at the University of Washington’s College of Education, including faculty, staff, and current students. They take part in workshops that build useful skills and help them make informed choices about their future. Students can earn high school and college credit, work toward a nationally recognized early childhood education credential, and connect with professionals in the field—all while learning more about themselves and their communities.

Why Become a Teaching Tomorrow Intern
How to Apply
There are fifteen internship positions available in 2026. Applications should be completed using the electronic form below. The internship application includes a series of short answer questions, and the submission of two references.
Rolling Admission Process
Teaching Tomorrow accepts applications on a rolling basis. This means that we will process applications as we receive them, until all positions are filled.
Here’s what to expect:
- After you apply, you’ll receive a confirmation email.
- Applications are reviewed as they come in for completeness, and references are checked.
- If selected to move forward, you’ll be contacted to schedule an interview. Some may be held in person at your school.
- Once you pass the interview, you’ll begin completing health screenings, background checks, and other state-required certifications.
- After completing all requirements, you’ll be invited to join the interns’ cohort and attend mandatory onboarding and CPR training at the University of Washington.
- Internship training begins in February 2026.
This process is a meaningful opportunity to prepare for work in early learning, but it also requires commitment, follow-through, and stamina. We’re here to support you every step of the way.
If you don't get an internship this year, we encourage you to apply again when the next cohort opens.
The application deadline is December 31, 2025.
