About the Early Childhood Leadership Program

Designed specifically for new and emerging leaders in ECEAP and Head Start programs, the Washington Early Childhood Leadership Program helps participants build the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to lead teams, support staff growth, and strengthen outcomes for children and families.

Through a blend of leadership development, peer learning, and practical application, participants deepen their understanding of evidence-informed practices that support children's learning and development while strengthening their ability to guide and sustain positive change. The program emphasizes resilience, relationship-based leadership, and effective strategies for supporting both staff and families.

Participants leave with an expanded professional network, greater confidence in their leadership role, practical tools they can use immediately, and a Leadership in Action Project that applies their learning to a real-world challenge or opportunity within their program.

What Makes this Program Unique

A Focus on Leading with Ease

Leadership does not have to be exhausting or stressful—it can be joyful, purposeful, and fulfilling. This program is rooted in the belief that joy is a powerful catalyst for success. When leaders embrace the joy of learning, they inspire the same enthusiasm and engagement in their schools and communities.

Throughout the program, you will build lasting relationships with other educational leaders who share your passion for early learning. Collaborative, peer-driven learning enhances your growth and gives you a support system as you tackle challenges and celebrate successes.

Evidence-Based Strategies

You will gain practical, research-based strategies that can be immediately applied to your role, resulting in tangible improvements for the children, families, and staff you serve.

Holistic Professional Development

This program integrates leadership skills, health and wellness strategies, and child development expertise, providing a well-rounded approach to personal and professional growth.

Clock Hours/Credits

Up to 9 college credits, STARS hours, and clock hours are all available. Additional information about available credit options will be shared before the program begins.
