Season 2, Episode 1: Mundo de Juguetes Makeover
Season 2 of Meaningful Makeover is here! This season, we welcome Jamie Phillips as DeEtta’s co-host. We are thankful to have her on our ever-growing team, as it takes everyone to pull off a great makeover! In this first episode, we work on making over provider Laura Coronado’s childcare space, called Mundo de Juguetes (Spanish for “World of Toys”). Laura’s combination of infants, toddlers, and preschoolers challenges the team to incorporate learning materials for all ages over the entire space. This is our first episode where much of it was filmed in Spanish! (with English subtitles)
Season 2, Episode 2: Little Teddy's Makeover
In Meaningful Makeover Season 2, Episode 2, DeEtta and Jamie are making over teacher Jeanette Johnson’s early learning environment, Little Teddy’s. Watch how the team rearranges furniture to create a more open space for kids to eat and play together. But the kids aren’t the only ones getting a new space to play in. The team also creates a teacher support area for Jeanette, complete with a new desk to help her stay better organized. BONUS! In this episode, DeEtta shows how to make a Tinkerbox, a small box of materials that allows children to explore multiple concepts within a subject. The Tinkerbox here is focused on math and science.
Season 2, Episode 3: Marsha Ritter's Home Daycare Makeover
For the third and final installment of Meaningful Makeover Season 2, the team is making over Marsha Ritter’s home daycare. The team shows how Marsha’s entire space can be rearranged so that what’s going on in all corners of the room is easier to see. They also reorganize the materials throughout Marsha’s daycare to make them more accessible to the children. With infants in Marsha’s care, the team works to ensure that infant materials are placed in each learning area so that when they start crawling, the infants will be able to engage with materials.
